By The Sea

Beach for me has been a timeless sanctuary as I walk collecting seashells with the rhythm of waves and colourful skies, looking at fishermen's boats as they sail gracefully, and wondering at the distant horizon where the sea meets the sky.

Lively to Quiet Beaches

On a lively beach I usually found joyous screams of people splashing into waves, a beach alive with activities, beachside shacks to relax, jet skis, motor boats around. After a few frequent visits to these lively beaches I found myself moving towards the waves at quiet beaches that were serene and gentle, absence of human noise allowed the natural melody of the ocean to take centre stage creating a soothing and rhythmic sound.

Morning Sea

Enjoying the beach in the early morning as the sun rises I used to jog or walk with the soft glow of the dawn and the beach gradually coming to life, awakening senses and setting a tone for the day ahead.

Fishermen's and Shells

Watching fishermen’s way of life and their boats sailing across the water, and sometimes joining fishermen in pulling their boats ashore from the sea. Seashells, these delicate treasures, each unique in shape and colour, are remnants of marine life. I often keep these as souvenirs of time spent by the sea.

Before the Rains

Visiting the beach before a rainstorm as the sky filled with smoky clouds standing by the shore waiting for raindrops. Enjoying the dramatic ambience created by the contrast of the dark sky and the restless sea.

Evening Tranquility

As the day gently slipped into the sea, the fading light created a peaceful ambience to sit on the boulders by the shore listening to music blending with the sound of waves and getting lost in the moments wondering about what lies beyond the horizon and later to find myself.

Moonlit Nights by the Sea

Sitting by the beach on moonlit nights, enjoying the stars, and feeling the cool breeze while listening to the gushing sound of waves, is a magical experience. The moonlight casting on water, could see the lights from ships docked at a distance, and sometimes, if lucky, experiencing the enchanting glow of bioluminescence.

Bioluminescence

I would always like to return or live these cherishing moments by the sea, living and capturing the spirits of the shore.

"Beyond the Temples of Udupi: Exploring the Beachside Beauty of Karnataka"

Nestled in the state of Karnataka, Udupi is a vibrant and diverse city that offers something for everyone. Often referred to as the "temple town of Karnataka," Udupi is home to several famous temples, including the Krishna Matta founded by the 13th century saint Jagadguru Shri Madhvacharya. But beyond the religious pilgrimages, Udupi also boasts beautiful beaches that are perfect for a peaceful getaway, including the popular Malpe Beach, as well as a number of lesser-known beaches that are perfect for a peaceful day by the sea. One of these lesser-known beaches is Mattu Beach, which is located about 10-11 km from Udupi. To get there, you can take a bus from the Udupi bus stand to Katapadi, and then either wait for a bus to Mattu or take an auto rickshaw. You'll be treated to a scenic drive alongside a river that flows into the sea, and once you arrive at the beach, you'll find a peaceful, serene spot that is usually empty during the week but attracts local visitors on...
